The Story Behind Farmhouse Rwanda
Farmhouse Rwanda was born from one man’s lifelong love of the land — a dream to create a place where people and nature could live in quiet harmony. What began as a private retreat has grown into a sanctuary of sustainability, warmth, and connection at the foot of the Volcanoes.
Rooted in a Love for the Land
Our founder’s story begins in the farmlands of eastern Congo, where childhood days were spent among horses, open fields, and the rhythms of rural life. Those early memories planted a seed — the vision of one day returning to the soil.
Years later, after a career in medicine and service with the United Nations, he followed that calling back to his ancestral land in Kinigi. What started as a personal dream slowly grew into something larger — a farm where organic living, hospitality, and purpose could meet.
A Home That Became a Haven

More Than a Stay, A Way of Life
Today, Farmhouse Rwanda is more than a destination. It’s a living expression of what matters most — respect for nature, care for animals, and the belief that good things take time to grow. Each guest who visits becomes part of that story, carrying forward the spirit of connection and renewal that started it all.
